This week, our childcare centre welcomed a special visit from the City of Calgary for an engaging and interactive workshop on pedestrian safety. Our little learners had the opportunity to explore what it means to stay safe while crossing the street through play, storytelling, and hands-on activities designed just for them.

The workshop leaders introduced important concepts like looking both ways, understanding traffic lights, and using crosswalks properly, all in a fun and age-appropriate way. The children practiced lining up, stopping at the “curb,” and spotting vehicles, helping them build real-world safety skills they can use with confidence. Their excitement and curiosity made the learning experience even more memorable!

We are grateful to the City of Calgary team for bringing this valuable workshop to our centre. By teaching safe habits early, we’re helping our children build independence and awareness one safe step at a time. ❤️
